Starr & Bob Calo–oy were both born and raised in San Antonio and have been married for 31 years. They have 10 children; two of which are still occupying their well–worn nest!
They have consistently worked together in their every endeavor; preaching, teaching believers and helping to promote evangelists through media and fund–raisers– to set up and participate in crusades in other countries. They were heavily involved with “Operation Blessing”, Pat Robertson’s ministry, from 1981 to 1989. During this time, they traveled to numerous cities in Texas, Mexico and Central America, preaching, praying for the people and handing out food and supplies to the poor and teaching them to farm.
Their own marriage was healed when they got back from the mission field and began attending Nova Shalom marriage classes at the suggestion of another couple whom they had known to live in strife every day of their lives. Starr and Bob became group leaders for The University of the Family (formerly known as Nova Shalom and then Marriage Ministries International). They taught a 14 week marriage class, The Married for Life course, 2–3 times a year in their own home, for 20 years.
Starr recently appeared on The 700 Club and was also a guest on Dr. Charles Stanley’s show as well as completing a 12 major Texas City tour on all major networks.
Bob & Starr do free marriage counseling with married couples and help them to work out their problems by using biblical principles. They currently host 2 one–hour, weekly radio talk shows in San Antonio; “Caregiving 101” and “Marriage 101”, as well as their own weekly TV segment, also titled “Caregiving 101” and “Marriage 101”, on KENS 5, GreatDay Sunday morning in San Antonio.
Starr & Bob have a spectacular marriage and wonderful family life with their 2 children (who still live at home; ages 11 & 13) which they attribute to their deep and prayerful relationship with Jesus Christ who brought them through many valleys.
